On this tour you'll be in the company of a small group of like-minded travelers. We avoid the hordes of tourists, and find our own quiet places, rich in history and culture. • Visit secret temples that even the locals don't know about.
  • Perform rituals and hear your fortune told.
  • Be guided through the historical streets of Phuket Town.
  • Step back into the colonial past and visit the home of a prominent local family and their beautiful Sino-Portuguese mansion.
  • Visit the island's cultural centre and see how it has evolved with the influx of Chinese and European immigrants.
  • Get all your questions answered!

Information

In the morning you will be picked up from your hotel by an air conditioned mini-van, local Thai guide/driver and native English speaking translator.

Our itinerary can be altered to suit different groups. A typical day will include:

Walk through the grounds of Wat Chalong and have the mysteries of Buddhism and this beautiful temple complex explained to you. Enjoy a drink in the shade and ask questions about how Buddhism works, and what it means to local people. Get your fortune told and learn the history of the islands most famous temple and its very famous Monk. Then, we head off to see Phuket from its highest mountain, with a visit to Big Buddha (on request).

On the way to Phuket town we'll stop off at a special destination where you can learn about Animistic Spirits and Ghosts, and how Thai people worship these in everyday life.

Your guide will then take you for a walk through the Heart of Phuket, pointing out its hidden treasures, including a Secret Temple and exceptional Historic Architecture. We will then visit a stunning Sino-Portuguese Mansion that has been lived in by the same family for four generations. Lunch will be served at a favorite local restaurant serving Authentic Phuket Cuisine.

After lunch, we'll visit the Heroines Monument and hear the amazing story of the two heroines who saved Phuket from the Burmese in the Battle of Thalang. Final stop will be the fantastic new Tin Mining Museum, which is great for anyone interested in local history, as well as children and families. Children here are welcome to play with the traditional shadow puppets and pose for photos in Chinese opera costumes.

You will wonder all day where the other tourists are, and why they are not visiting these beautiful places! The answer why we are different is simple:

WE RECEIVE ABSOLUTELY NO COMMISSIONS FROM THE PLACES WE TAKE YOU TO.

WE CHOSE DESTINATIONS FOR THEIR QUALITY AND BEAUTY.
