About Us at Phuket Alternative Tours
We are a company under Phuket Sail Tours which is a family run business that has been operating in Phuket since 2004.
Since Captain Mark cannot be on two tours at the same time, he created Phuket Alternative Tours due to the popularity of the tours offered. Our tours offered through Phuket Alternative Tours have only an experienced Thai Guide onboard the boat in addition to the Thai Boat Captain and a Thai Deck Hand.
Our tours offered are exactly the same as Phuket Sail Tours, same boats, same Thai Captains, and same Thai Guides, only difference is Captain Mark in not onboard these boats.
Captain Mark will greet all guests in the morning before the tour and will introduce your Thai Guide for the day. Our Thai Guides have been with us for many years and have years of experience in Phang Nga Bay and the Phi Phi Islands.

Captain Mark
Captain Mark is an Australian who has been living in Phuket for over 10 years. Known for his typically Australian sense of humor, he is never seen without his captain's pipe and hat. A vast source of knowledge in hte seafaring ways.
He is keen with children showing them how to tie various knots.
His collection of pirate sea shanties can be sung on request, but we don't recommend it!

Cha Cha
Cha Cha is Mark's wife. Cha Cha is Thai, and her family belongs to a village near Au Por from where we operate from.

Captain Eck
Our Captain of Sailboat Sakai for a number of years, now is Captain of our Sailboat Kwahm Wung. Eck often joins us our Phi Phi trips to assist with people snorkeling. Eck is a keen family man, with three small boys of his own, he loves letting kids have a turn at "Captaining" the boat. Eck is a fully licensed boat Captain. |

Guide, Sompong
Sompong is a fully licensed Thai Guide, and speaks very good English. His knowledge of Phang Nga Bay and the Phi Phi Islands is extensive. |

Sam is a fully licensed Thai Guide, and speaks very good English. His knowledge of Phang Nga Bay and the Phi Phi Islands is extensive. |

Padon is a university student pursuing a degree in Tourism. Padon is not licensed and has to be in the present of a licensed Thai Guide, and is learning English. His knowledge of Phang Nga Bay and the Phi Phi Islands is very good.
The Guide for your tour, will introduce him as an Intern to show that he is learning but not a certified guide.

Intern Guide, Ampair
Ampair is a university student pursuing a degree in Tourism. Ampiar is not licensed and has to be in the present of a licensed Thai Guide, and is learning English. Her knowledge of Phang Nga Bay and the Phi Phi Islands is very good. She is very safety conscious.
The Guide for your tour, will introduce Ampair as an Intern to show that she is learning but not a certified guide.
Ampair is the daughter of our Senior Booking Staff, Joky.

Joky started in January 2012 and is our first staff we have hired to take care of email and phone call bookings. When making an online or phone booking, Joky may be the one handling this for you.

Ya has been with our company from the very beginning as the Cook on the Sailboat Sakai, her food is famous to anyone who has been with us on our Phang Nga Bay Sailboat tours. Now Ya works as Office Staff.

Cook Maria - onboard Sailboat Kwahm Wung, and the Big Boat
Our speedboat tours include lunch either at Koh Panyee or Phi Phi Don which are catered from restaurants that we know prepare delicious meals.
On our sailboat and Big Boat tours however, you are in for a treat! We have our own Cook that makes excellent meals and is served on a secluded beach for the Sail Boat tour and onboard the Big Boat. We may pick up fresh prawn or crab from local fishermen along our tour, and our Cook will professionally prepare this for you.
